Tastes of Hawai'i

Dining on our Plantation Road is one of contrasts, but always delicious. We visit a number of different eateries during our tour, some small little local style "drive-ins" (Hawaiian style cafes not actual drive ins), some nights we enjoy chef prepared dinners featuring locally grown and produced foods.

Good Gear

Pedalers provides Specilaized Cirrus, a flatbar sport road bike. The bikes are equipped with beefier tires to handle all roads, disc brakes, flat handlebars for more upright posture to enjoy the landscapes and a wide range of gearing for the rolling terrain.

As a safe health measure, guests are asked to bring their own helmets and waterbottles for cycling.

Getting There

The Plantation Road Hawaii Bike Tour meets at Royal Kona Resort in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. Guides will meet guests in the lobby at 9am. The tour ends at Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport in Keahole, Hawaii.

Guests should plan their flights to arrive in Kona before 07:00 (7 am) on Day 1 of the tour and their departing flights after 12:00 (12 noon) on Day 6.

Ellison Onizuka Kona Airport code: KOA     Local Time: GMT-10

Travel Tip:   Arriving the day before is a good idea to allow time to relax after the long flights and explore historic Kona.

Sometimes better fares can be found to Honolulu, with a separate inter-island flight to KOA. But do leave sufficient time between flights (3 hours suggested).
